Ulcers in Abdomen

I had just finished my post graduation from Europe and returned to India, very reluctantly, only on the insistence of my family, as I wanted to stay back in Europe for sometime and make my career. But destiny had some other plans for me and I returned to India and started looking for jobs. It was very frustrating and depressing to look for a job in India with a foreign degree. I applied to innumerable companies for a job but none replied and the very few interviews I went to didn’t work out.

With the given situation I continued to practice and learn yoga under the guidance of my Gurus but simultaneously I was looking for a job. After a while, I got a job with a suitable profile but with very nominal payment and it was one hour away from my city. I accepted the job offer but it got physically draining for me and I would hardly earn anything from it so emotionally too I got drained out plus I was eating at the company's canteen where the food quality was not up to the mark. All this took a toll on me and I fell sick, but before I fell sick I left the job. Now staying home was depressing as a young, well educated but jobless person.

All the above emotional stress led to an abdominal ulcer. The pain was excruciating. On drinking water I could feel the water passing through my intestines because it would pain as the water passed through. I did the regular sonography and visited a well known doctor who prescribed me some antibiotics and medication but to no avail. Instead I was becoming weaker and could hardly eat anything other than little rice and curd and few fruits. For a month the misery continued till my eldest brother took me to Geetaji who recommended a therapy class. One week of therapy class asanas and I stopped the medication and continued with the therapy practice for 3 months after which I recovered completely. I added some soup to my diet to recover from the weakness and hyper acidity but my diet intake was limited.

Given all the holistic treatments of Ayurveda and homeopathy I would strongly advise practicing yoga for this particular illness as nowhere else can you get a relief from it (but under the guidance of trained yoga teachers. Having ulcers in the abdomen is tough and if left unattended it can cause complications for life.

I invite those of you who have gone through this ailment to share your experiences and how you overcame the problem.
